Hey there, baby Jags!

If I had one word to describe student life here at South, it would be diverse. I know, I know.. cliché. But seriously, there is something for EVERYONE. We have more than 200 student-led clubs with a variety of focuses. Greek life, professional organizations, service organizations, and academic clubs are in abundance on our campus. Even if there is something that you are really passionate about that we don't have a club for already, you can make one! You can't forget about intramurals either. There is at least one intramural season going on all the time, so maybe if you had Division 1 dreams but didn't make the roster you can shine on everyone in the rec or on the football fields.

Whatever may interest you, you will find your niche when you get on campus. Just keep an open mind and break out of your comfort zone. Get involved and your college experience will be 10x better.

Hey there Baby Jags! It's another school year and another opportunity to get to know all of you lovely people. My name is Laura and I am originally from Troy, AL. "Ain't Nobody Got Time For That"

Hey baby Jags! We have officially passed the midterm mark of the semester and things are getting REAL. I have honestly enjoyed this semester so much and done well in the classroom, but there are inevitable challenges we all will face as college students. The main challenge I have faced throughout my almost 3 years at South would be managing my time. I currently am taking 17 hours, working part time on campus, juggling a few different clubs and honors societies, and finding time for philanthropic work and sisterhood events with my sorority, Kappa Delta. It can be extremely difficult to find time for everything thrown at you and you definitely will go through periods of time where you feel as if you spread yourself too thin.  I have learned that making a list each morning when I wake up is extremely beneficial for me. 3 Tips

Hey baby Jags!  Picking the college you want to attend can be extremely stressful. It can get overwhelming to muddle through a list of schools and deciding where you want to spend the next 4+ years of your life can be very scary. Everyone approaches the college-picking process differently, but I will give you three tips that I used to help decide on a university. 1) Money. For me, I looked into scholarship requirements and figured out how much assistance I could get from each university I was interested in. Finances are a huge factor for most people when deciding on a college. I found that South was the most affordable and I was able to earn the largest amount of scholarship money here as well. 2) Location. I come from a college town so all of my friends stayed in our hometown for school. I wanted to get away but also be close enough to home to be able to get to my parents if I ever needed them.
